Discussion:
DRC error message - "No real vector font"
(too old to reply)

Can you point me toward a resolution of this DRC error?

Since upgrading to Version 4.14, any text I place on layer 16Bottom in board
layout (eg. proportional font) fails DRC with message "No real vector font".

Thanks!

"Proportional" and "Fixed" fonts use real system fonts, which can't be plotted
using the commonly standard gerber format. So in copper layers, only vector font
should be used.

If you generate your films usign a raster printer or postscript files, you might
consider turning the fonts check off in the DRC settings. However take care that
all texts other than those using vector font might appear differently later on
the real boards. Additionally, polygon calculation around text objects may
produce unwanted results.

Tilmann,

Thank you for the prompt response and information which allowed me to
resolve my problem after using vector fonts and tweaking the font "size" and
"ratio" to resolve DRC "width" errors!

Regards,
