Hello all.

I've asked Ed at Cadsoft if there is a way to create our own shortcut
buttons in Eagle (shematic and/or board) or if there is an SDK I can get
a hold of to do it. I am writing to all of you in this NG because,
obviously, the answer I received is "no".

Oddly, there is a program, not affiliated with Cadsoft that integrates
beautifully within Eagle. Its called EAGLE PCB POWER TOOLS (worth every
penny mind you). It adds buttons to the menu.

My question is simple. Anyone know how they did it? It isn't any ULP
or SCR of any kind. Am I embarrassly, overlooking the obvious?

It would be great to link custom buttons to ULPs and SCRs.

I know... I know... I could create a keystroke for the option too. But
it'd be great to have an integrated button. Furthermore, a "pulldown"
feature would be a bonus.

I look forward to any info available.

TIA,
trode

Nevermind "Command text" activated with the SCR is sufficient.
But if anyoine runs into a button-based version of such a technique.
I'd love to hear it!

Hello,

I'm the author of the EAGLE PCB Power Tools. I'm glad to hear that you are
thinking this is a nice tool.
The technique of this Extended Toolbar for EAGLE is tricky. This is an
external program that looks like an integrated EAGLE part. Like the unit
conversion tool in the the status bar of EAGLE window there is only an
external window that is placed over EAGLE window on the right position. So
it looks like an EAGLE button bar.
If you press a button with an EAGLE command, the command will be sended to
EAGLE

With help of the Extended toolbar you can create buttons that can start
ULPs, SCRs, any EAGLE commands (also with parameters!) and external
programs. If you are running the Exteded Toolbar you can even start external
programs from an ULP!

Best regards
Falk

you enough for your product. Its a Gem of a tool.
